Positive Thoughts

Filed under: Uncategorized — mvervinck @ 9:27 pm

Usually, I am a glass is half full type of person, so let’s see how it works for me today.

1.  My dog got me up at 7:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning.  Well, at least the house was quiet, and I had a chance to read the newspaper on my Kindle and drink a cup of coffee before everyone else got up this morning.

2.  On a Saturday, I worked.  Well, I met a wonderful student who I really look forward to working with.  She really is motivated to learn and just needs a little confidence.  I’m actually looking forward to next week’s session.

3.  My student was late. Well, I usually don’t pick up my mail until Monday at work, but because I was in my office today and my student was running a little late, I picked up my mail early.  I had a ‘thank you’ postcard from one of my former student teachers who is now teaching in Korea.  It was nice to hear from him and to feel appreciated because of his positive comments.

4.  The shower faucet had to be fixed because it dripped.  Well, I got a shower and the bathroom is a lot cleaner now.  Something that wasn’t suppose to break did as my husband was fixing the dripping shower faucet.  He yells for help, and I go charging up the stairs to enter a bathroom with a geyser shooting out of where the faucet used to be.  I try to hold the shower curtain closed, as he goes to the basement to turn off the water to the house.  My son helps me, but even with him holding part of the curtain while I hold another section with both hands and my head (don’t ask), the bathroom still gets soaked (and me, too).  It is a lot cleaner in there now, though!

6.  The water is turned off for the whole house.  Well, of course my daughter had to…well, you know.  I’m glad we have great neighbors!  We knocked on their door and told them what happened.  They laughed and offered their help, along with the use of their facilities.  We have something else to chuckle about now!

7.  Well, since it is only 4:30, the day is still young!  I might be adding to the list!

How did your day go today?

  1. HA!!! What an inspiring slice. Find the joy…… I am a half-full person too – at least most days. Thanks.

  3. Great post for me to read today, as I am struggling to get back to a half-full philosophy. Thanks for the optimism!
