Arf! Arf!

Today is one of those first nice days of spring.  The sun is shining, and it is in the 50s.  (Not quite sure why I am on the computer instead of outside, but anyway…).  When it begins to get warmer and the animals become more active, I can tell my the increased barking of my dog.   He might be a little thing, but he sure has a loud bark.  He seems to believe that he must be on patrol and bark at anything that walks, jumps, runs, hops or lands in our yard.   However, his bark is not very effective.  If you look carefully at the picture, you can see a squirrel, munching on his lunch while staring at our dog.  He really isn’t too fazed by the loud shrill bark coming from the other side of the glass window.

The best way to get him to calm down and to stop barking is not to yell at him but to take him on a walk.  Guess I have a good excuse to get off of the computer and do just that.  Time to go outside and get a little fresh air – both of us need it!

  1. Love the picture. We have one of the squirrel eating the birdfood…looking at us…as if we are intruding. It is nice that you know that taking your dog for a walk will quiet him…and it is nice exercise too. Enjoy this beautiful day while walking your dog. Jackie

  2. I am starting to think that the squirrels are getting cheeky! And I don’t mean stuffed full of nuts! It seems like they are such dare devils these days. Anyway, hope you got to enjoy your walk. Your sweet doggie is a cutie!
