Tonight, my husband and I took our dog for a walk in the park.  Finally, the weather was warm enough for a stroll along the water.  The best part of the evening was the fact that we got away from the TV, the radio and the Internet.  It was just the two of us walking along the water with our dog while seeing a beautiful sunset.  I needed this.  We needed this.  I needed to get away from the gory details and the continuous repetition of same facts and terrible news about the two bombs that exploded in Boston.  This event has bothered me more than I want to admit.  It is terrible.  Part of me, though, doesn’t want to give the villains who did this the time of day.  I don’t want to give them the satisfaction of knowing that they have affected me or what I think, do and say.  They may have for now but not forever.  Seasons change and as the flowers, trees and grass begin to grow again, so, too, will my belief that there are more people in this world who are good and very few who are evil.  Sometimes it seems as if spring will never come, but it does.  And as I continue to search for the signs of spring this year, I will continue to search for the good in people, too.

  1. Spring is hope, beauty, and life. I love how you go for a walk and seek the emergent spring. Beautiful.
