Ever Have that Nagging Feeling You Forgot Something?

Filed under: Uncategorized — mvervinck @ 8:57 pm

I thought today was a typical Sunday.  I slept in a little bit, got up and enjoyed a cup (or two or three) of coffee with my morning newspaper.  Then, I took a shower and decided to bake some monkey bread for lunch to go with the vegetable soup I started in the slower cooker last night at 11:00 p.m.  After cleaning up from baking and from lunch, I sat down and began grading the books I collected from my students this past week.  (I can’t even begin to explain how impressed I am about the responses that the students are writing.)  I took a break from grading to take the dog on a walk.  It turned out to be a short walk!  28F at the end of March is way too cold for a long walk this time.

All day long there was this little nagging feeling I had that I was forgetting something.  I checked my calendar, and I checked my phone – nothing.  Then, when I sat down at my computer, it hit me.  I forgot to post to the SOLC on Saturday.  Arrrgggghhhh! Well, this is going to get posted; although, it feels a day late and a dollar short (as the saying goes)!

  1. I certainly know that feeling. I’ve almost missed a slice myself this month. Congrats on your students’ writing it is always amazing to see their growth.

  2. Only a fellow participant in SOLSC understands this frustration. I keep my self doubly confused because I’m trying to write the night before and post in the morning, but some days I’m writing in the evening and posting in the evening. Love the description of your leisurely Sunday morning. Monkey bread – yum!

  3. I feel your disappointment it certainly has happened to me. For whatever reason this year the nagging is at a higher decible preventing me from forgetting.

  4. I’ve missed a couple days of slicing. This is my first challenge and I just started the Tuesday slice a few weeks before the month long challenge. I enjoy the slicing, it’s just so busy some days I fall into bed without ever turning the computer on!

  5. Ahh….but was your monkey bread good? Sometimes we just forget things because there are other important things going on. Jackie http://familytrove.blogspot.com/

    • The monkey bread is gone, so that’s a sign that it was good. I know I had more than my fair share!
