Full out Crying Laughs

Filed under: Uncategorized — mvervinck @ 9:25 pm

First, I’ll start this slice by staying that my kids are in high school.

I am rubber, and you are glue.  Whatever you say, bounces off me and sticks to you!

Today after school, I was watching TV with my daughter and her friend.  We were talking about a lot of different things from the leaving of Zayin Malik from One Direction (OK, full disclosure, I had to look up his name) to what time second lunch at their high school is to some gentle jabs back and forth between the girls who were laughing and giggling the entire time.  Out of the blue, I spurt out the above saying. They stop and look out me.  Then, they both burst out laughing – uncontrollable laughter with tears running down their faces.  They had never heard this phrase before.  They thought it was hilarious and kept repeating it – wrong.  Of course, that led to more laughter and tears.  Finally, they got it.  Now, they are waiting for the right time to use it!  Yeah, maybe I shouldn’t have passed that saying on, but the full out crying with laughter laughs for all was totally worth it.

  1. What a great moment to share. Those unpredictable, ordinary moments of joy are the best!

  2. This is hilarious! Sometimes I catch things coming out of my mouth and my kids look at me like I’m insane because they had never heard it before. Great slice!

  3. I just learned of the OH MY GOSH exit of the one direction guy yesterday too! It was a thing with my HS sr. Daughter. Love that the girls laughed over rubber and glue. Great picture you painted here with your words. Smiling!

  4. Funny–you really captured a great moment with your slice. I love the image of the girls mangling this phrase and setting themselves off into gales of laughter.

  5. Haha! I teach high school and it amazes me how many of the little things I say they have never heard! They think I’m a genius sometimes 🙂 Love the slice! Can’t get the the picture of two giddy high school girls laughing hysterically.
