Looking Back

Filed under: Uncategorized — mvervinck @ 11:59 pm

Tonight, using an app called Timehop and looking at old post that I had done in the past years, I was amazed to see that one friend had passed away a year ago and three years ago I was watching my son at a track meet.  I didn’t  realize how fast time flies.

Tonight after dinner my husband and I were discussing future plans. We talked about how we would like a small house but a large boat for the weekend. We talked about spending time on the boat and just enjoying time away from everything else. I think we all need to think about what we’re going to do in the future.

Thinking about what I saw on Time Hop and thinking about my dinner conversation with my husband, I realize that time is too short. I know I make plans and think about the future,

but time really is too short. I think I need to start doing and not just planning.

What are your plans?  What do you want to do?  When are you going to start?  I know I’m ready to start now!

  1. It’s odd how often my husband and I make references to retirement now. Since he’s 5 years older than I am I think we need a plan.

  2. I have written about how life is short, and I have read a lot of slices with the same theme. I am starting to think towards retirement…so my goal now is to focus on what I love about teaching instead getting stuck on the negative (of which testing and how much time we spend on it is at the top of the list)…I want to finish well. I have lots of ideas for what I would like in retirement. Most are simple enough- volunteering, more time to read, time with family and friends…
