March 2015

Filed under: Uncategorized — mvervinck @ 10:59 pm

Wow!  I did it!  It feels, well, it feels good!  I participated in the Slice of Life Challenge through Two Writing Teachers. I reached my goal!  I wrote a new blog post each and every day of the month of March and commented on at least three other posts, too.  I also accepted the weekend challenge of reading and commenting on 60+ posts which was probably one of the best things I have done.  I really did enjoy reading everyone’s posts as well as receiving a lot of comments about what I wrote that weekend.

I have to say, I was not consistent when posting each day.  Sometimes I wrote early in the morning while other times I posted later in the evening.  Some posts were rather long while others were short.  The places I wrote were varied: at a desk, on my couch, at my parent’s house, in a parking lot, at an adult education school, at a table, on a cellphone, and more.

For my last post for the month of March 2015, I created a Wordle by using all of the titles from all of my posts from the entire month.

March_2015_Wordle_from_mvervinckI look forward to continuing to write a Slice of Life each Tuesday until I take my fourth challenge in March 2016!

  1. Fun. Sometimes I think we should preface our posts with the conditions, setting, etc. so people get an even clearer picture of how this is coming about! Most of my posts were done at the cat’s table in the kitchen (we have two tables – one literally for the cat so he stays off our eating table) the evening before and scheduled to go live at midnight. Sometimes I was up late enough to link to TWT before I went to bed, others I popped out of bed early and posted in nightgown. It would just be kind of interesting to see how many were done in cars on phones, at lunchtime…etc.

  2. Love your Wordle, it makes me want to visit more of your posts! You must be a musician.

    • Actually, I do enjoy music, but I am a linguist by profession who teaches ELLs.

  3. This reminds me I have not done a Wordle in awhile. They are always interesting to me. Great use as a final challenge slice. Your writing shows as much variety as the places you wrote from.

  4. I really like this idea! What a great way to see, visually, what was “top of mind” for you all month. I may have to steal this idea. 🙂
